Designed to have an Adirondack feel and to take advantage of the sloped lots found in the mountains, the Mountain Series of pre-designed timber frame home designs have been built all over the country. Our most popular home plans, the Mountain Series epitomizes timber frame design with open great rooms, large gourmet kitchens, central fireplaces, covered decks, exterior timbers, and bridge lofts. They are all designed with lower levels for additional living area and are great design series to consider for people who like to ski. The Aerie has total square footage of 3338 sq. ft. The 1st floor is 1943 sq.ft., the 2nd floor is 821 sq.ft., and the Studio (above Garage) is 574 sq.ft.

When you think of cabins your first thought might be to think of log cabins; however you will find that timber frame design is very adaptable for smaller footprints with open floor plans, and can offer more options in terms of materials and colors than you get with log construction.
We have a number of pre-designed house plans from our Cabin series that feature lofts. Small and simple with open floor plans and sleeping lofts, these post and beam plans will feel at home on any wooded or lakeside property.
Our full package for pre-designed homes includes a Southern Yellow Pine timber frame, Murus brand structural insulated panels (SIPs) for the walls and roof (including blueboard interior), Andersen windows, Therma-Tru entry doors, and five full sets of construction drawings. Yes, we take care of everything from from design to full construction, drawing, and blueprints.

We love log cabins too! But we don’t love the maintenance involved in a true cabin made of logs and the manufactured log homes seem contrived. The cabin series of timber frame home designs was developed to offer an alternative. Small and simple with open floor plans and, typically, sleeping lofts, these small post and beam plans will feel at home on any wooded or lakeside property. **All square footage amounts listed are shown as “Gross Livable Square Footage.” “Gross Livable Square Feet” is defined as the combined floor area of all levels for the building structure, encompassing the perimeter of the exterior wall line, but not including space under a 5’0” height line, typically occurring at the second floor where roof lines intersect with floor lines. Any lower levels (basements), connectors, or garage areas are not included in our package price, but framing materials are available at an additional cost. Contact your Woodhouse representative to learn more.**
Timber frame homes are not just for the woods! A stunning post and beam structure on the inside can be surrounded by an insulated shell with the most traditional finish. Case in point… the Cape Series of pre-designed timber frame home designs. These timber frame designs feature open floor plans and an integrated post and beam structure on the inside and are surrounded by the wrap-around porches and gable dormers typical of “cape cod” architecture. These home plans are as comfortable in a suburb as they are at the seashore. The CedarSprings plan has a total square footage of 1314. Call 800.227.4311 for more information and to get started.

Home Shows, appropriately called, “Magazines Brought To Life,” are large, lively events occasionally featuring life-sized Timber Frame structures. Our exhibit showcases the rustic elegance of a custom Woodhouse® timber frame home. Shows provide guests with free, hourly workshop presentations and educational demonstration areas. This is the place to see, feel and smell the wood. These are a great opportunity to meet with our timber frame and structural insulated panel experts and get a feel for what Woodhouse is all about.
